On ‘doughnut hole,’ savings average $592

So far this year, Arkansas Medicare recipients have saved nearly $42 million on preventive services and discounted drugs. Parts of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that narrowed the “doughnut hole” in prescription-drug costs have saved the average Arkansas Medicare recipient $592 so far this year, federal officials said Tuesday.
