Two Arkansas festivals, the Johnny Cash Music Festival in Jonesboro and Little Rock’s Riverfest, have been named as two of the “2013 Top 100 Events in North America” by the American Bus Association.

Riverfest has won previously in 1984, 1987, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2010, and 2012, according to the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. The Johnny Cash festival, in its third year, has also been designated as one of the “Events to Watch,” a new category this year.

The “Top 100 Events in North America” is in its 31st year as a guide for travel workers and the public to use when planning group tours and vacations, the tourism department said.

Other top events nearby include the Branson Veterans Homecoming; the Ozark Mountain Christmas in Branson; Cruisin’ the Coast in Biloxi, Miss.; and the Oklahoma Indian Summer Festival in Bartlesville.
