Arkansas court clerk arrested on drug charges

— A Lawrence County district court clerk and her husband have been arrested for allegedly selling marijuana from their home.

Authorities say 44-year-old Melanie Mandera and 35-year-old James Mandera were arrested Wednesday for possession of marijuana, hydrocodone and drug paraphernalia. James Mandera also faces charges of resisting arrest and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Both are now free on bond. Phone calls to the couple were not returned.

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office says the two were arrested after undercover agents bought marijuana from the couple using marked bills that were later in the couple’s home.
