Arkansas achievers

— Tre Crume, a student at Jonesboro High School, has been awarded the 2012 Mary Mooney Memorial Scholarship by Out of the Dark Inc., for his leadership and service to his community through his Out of the Dark School Chapter.

The Arkansas School Boards Association Education Foundation has announced the recipients of five $650 scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors who are children of Arkansas school board members and who will attend Arkansas colleges in the fall.

Hayley Wheelis is a graduate of Melbourne High School and the daughter of Melbourne School Board member Brad Wheelis.

Meghan Scholtens is a graduate of Berryville High School and the daughter of Berryville School Board member Lydia King.

Katie Moore is a graduate of Bryant High School and the daughter of Bryant School Board member David Moore.

Robert Dalby is a graduate of Arkansas High School and the son of Texarkana School Board member Carol Dalby.

Olivia Lisenbey is a graduate of Sheridan High School and the daughter of Sheridan School Board member Jeff Lisenbey.

Harley Strayhorn of Marion has been awarded a Leadership Scholarship to attend Williams Baptist College. She is a graduate of Marion High School and the daughter of Mickey and Holly Strayhorn.

Devin Hall of Little Rock has been awarded a Leadership Scholarship to attend WIlliams Baptist College. He is a graduate of Episcopal Collegiate and the son of David and Monica Hall of Little Rock.

The Arkansas Chapter of the Women of AT&T has announced five female students are recipients of $500 scholarships.

Breanna Baker of Little Rock is a freshman at the University of Central Arkansas. She is the daughter of Bobby and Joyce Baker.

Kelly Carter of Sulphur Rock is a 2012 graduate of Batesville High School who plans to attend Arkansas State University. She is the daughter of Dwayne and Katie Carter.

Jessica Hargis of Camden is a 2012 graduate of Harmony Grove High School and plans to attend Ouachita Baptist University. She is the daughter of Leigh and Genna Hargis.

Hannah Miller of Bryant is a 2012 graduate of Bryant High School and plans to attend the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She is the daughter of Phillip and Lori Miller.

Laura Winters of Holiday Island is a 2012 graduate of Eureka Springs High School and plans to attend Lyon College. She is the daughter of Tom and Nicole Winters.

Liston Barber of Little Rock has been awarded the Division of Agriculture Scholarship and the Arkansas Envirothon Scholarship by the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas. He will be a freshman this fall. Barber is the son of Laurie and Jeff Barber.
