— Mums concealed in bag, police say

A Little Rock man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he attempted to steal a pot of flowers from a Kroger store, reports state.

Shortly after noon, William White, 62, of 4324 Pine Cone Drive was spotted “concealing a pot of mums in a large trash bag” at the front of the Kroger store at 8824 Geyer Springs Road, an arrest report states.

Officers were called to the store and spoke with White, who smelled “strongly” of intoxicants and could not provide his home address, according to reports.

White was arrested and charged with theft and public intoxication.

The flowers were valued at $16.99.

White was being held Wednesday night at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $600 bond.

Stolen cigarettes,

phone returned

After asking for cash, a man who took another man’s cell phone and cigarettes returned them later.

Greg Mohler of 1912 Green Mountain Drive was getting out of his car in the parking lot of his apartment complex Wednesday morning when an unidentified man approached and pulled a handgun on him, reports state.

The man demanded money, patted Mohler down and took his cell phone and cigarettes. The man told Mohler to walk away and he would leave his phone and cigarettes on the ground.

Mohler went to his apartment, came back later and his cigarettes and phone were there as promised, reports said.

The gunman was described as black, in his early 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 185 pounds. He wore a dark shirt and a white hat.

NLR police say

North Little Rock police arrested a man Tuesday night after he took his girlfriend from her house, forced her into his vehicle and held her against her will, reports state.

About 10:51 p.m., officers responding to a shots-fired call at 1625 Sycamore St. were flagged down by Bobbie Raglin-Smith, who said Consuela Sanders had been taken from their residence at 1623 Sycamore St., according to reports.

Raglin-Smith told police Sanders was taken by her boyfriend of five years, Terry Freeman, 33, of 1707 Cumberland St. in Little Rock, reports state.

Sanders called Raglin-Smith’s phone and said they were by the Main Street bridge, where officers responded and found Freeman running from his vehicle in the 1300 block of Main Street, reports state.

Freeman was arrested and charged with second-degree false imprisonment. He was being held Wednesday night at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $1,500 bond.

Posed as officer, police say of man

A Little Rock man was arrested after he was found at an apartment building with an airsoft pistol pretending to be a police officer, reports said.

An airsoft firearm is a replica gun that fires plastic pellets. They are nonlethal and realistic.

Officers were called to 1421 N. University Ave. about 1 a.m. Monday and found Kent Gray yelling into a telephone. They said Gray was wearing a holster with an airsoft gun concealed by his shirt.

One witness told police he had shown her the gun and told her he was a police officer.

Gray was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation of a police officer and disorderly conduct. He was being held Wednesday night in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.
