The 2013 Major League Baseball season will make its unofficial debut Monday afternoon, with Opening Day festivities beginning across the country.

While the 2013 season officially got under way Sunday night with Houston taking an 8-2 home win over Texas, a majority of MLB teams will begin regular season play today, with 12 games on the schedule.

Games will begin at noon with Boston visiting the New York Yankees, followed by contests between Florida and Washington, the Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh and San Diego at the New York Mets to cap off the first games of the day.

The Arkansas Travelers big league affiliate, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, start their season at 3:10 p.m. at Cincinnati.
