NLR alderman named to national Military Communities Council

North Little Rock Ward 1 Alderman Debi Ross has been appointed to the National League of Cities' 2013 Military Communities Council, the city announced Monday.

The National League of Cities website says the council was formed to give communities with military installations the ability to share concerns, ideas and practices.

Ross is a longtime supporter of Camp Robinson and Camp Pike, the city said.

Camp Robinson, a 33,000-acre training facility, is home to the Arkansas National Guard. It provides year-round training for military agencies in Arkansas. Camp Pike is used as an Army reserve center.

The National League of Cities represents 19,000 communities and more than 218 million Americans, according to the city's statement.
