Toddler drowns in Oklahoma creek

HOWE, Okla. — Authorities say a toddler boy drowned after wandering into a creek in LeFlore County.

Undersheriff Kendall Morgan said the 2-year-old disappeared from the family home near Howe shortly before noon Sunday. Morgan says the child's mother reported him missing after she noticed he had disappeared.

Morgan says LeFlore County authorities discovered the child's body about 20 to 30 yards away from the home. Authorities say the boy apparently drowned in a creek that was about 4 feet deep.

Morgan tells the Southwest Times Record that the drowning is being ruled as accidental.
