Woman accused of assaulting teenage daughter

A North Little Rock woman is accused of assaulting her 13-year-old daughter after the girl was arguing with her sister.

Rashedua Farrakhan, 38, is facing charges of aggravated assault and third-degree domestic battery, according to a Pulaski County sheriff's office report.

Deputies say the victim told investigators she was arguing with her sister about clothes at the family's apartment at 5900 McCain Place when Farrakhan came in and began hitting her, causing injuries on her lip and face.

The report says the girl tried to get away, but Farrakhan got on top of her and began to choke her "to the point that she 'couldn't breathe.'"

Police say the teen suffered multiple scratches to her neck.

Farrakhan remained in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday morning.
