Police respond Wednesday, April 10, 2013, to the Bank of the Ozarks branch at 109 N. Chester St. in downtown Little Rock after a report of a robbery.

A man escaped with an unknown amount of money after robbing a Little Rock bank Wednesday morning.

Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said the man walked into the Bank of the Ozarks, 109 North Chester Street, and demanded money about 11:40 a.m.

Employees at the bank said the man told them he had a weapon, but he did not display one. After getting the money, the suspect fled east, Davis said.

No one was harmed, and no customers were present at the time of the robbery.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10 black male with a medium build, wearing a blue and white cap and a white denim jacket, Davis said. The investigation is ongoing.
