Gov. Mike Beebe on Thursday announced his intention to grant pardons for six convicts who have served their sentences, paid all fines and fulfilled all post-release requirements.
In addition, Beebe's office said, 21 clemency requests were denied, and no action was taken on 10 others.
Beebe intends to pardon:
• Willie D. Easley of Gentry, convicted in Benton County in 2001 of attempted manufacture of methamphetamine;
• Robert D. Ellis of Waldo, convicted in Columbia County in 1994 of a violation of the Controlled Substances Act and theft by receiving;
• Charles D. Kildow of Ravenden Springs, convicted in Baxter County in 1997 of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia;
• Lee C. Nayles of Little Rock, convicted in Pulaski County in 1998 of theft of property;
• Calvin J. Tidwell of Arkadelphia, convicted in Clark County in 1987 of delivery of marijuana;
• Renee Davis Victory of Paron, convicted in Sherwood District Court in 1998 and in Faulkner County in 1998 and 2003 of passing hot checks.
A 30-day public-feedback period will be in place before the pardons are finalized, Beebe's office said.
