Trinity Episcopal Cathedral was the setting at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6, for the marriage of Rebecca Riley Duke and Brendan Paul Connick. Officiating were the Revs. Jonathan Jenson and James Russell Snapp and Monsignor John O’Donnell.

The bride is the daughter of Sheffield and William David Duke, 5401 Sherwood Road. Her grandparents are Pam and Donald Edward Christian and the late Sheffield Lander Owings, all of Little Rock, and the late Muriel Riley Benson and the late James Richard Duke, both of Hamburg.

Parents of the groom are Giselle and Paul David Connick Jr. of Metairie, La. He is the grandson of Betty and Paul David Connick of Metairie and the late Alice and Louis Joseph Dutrey of New Orleans.

The altar held fountain arrangements of roses, ginestra, snapdragons and larkspur. Music was by organist Tom Lee, soloist Christine Westhoff and oboist Lorraine Duso. Guests were greeted by Josie and Abigail Caldarera.

The bride represents the fourth generation of her family to be married in the church. She was escorted by her father and wore a strapless gown of ivory organza with a lace overlay made from the wedding gown of her great-grandmother, Sheffield Smith Lander. Her cathedral-length lace veil belonged to her great-great grandmother, Amelia Sheffield Smith.She carried a cascade of white wedding flowers.

Helen Sheffield Duke of Little Rock served as her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Claire Connick of Los Angeles and Katherine Williams of New Orleans, sisters of the groom; Mary Colleen Connick of Metairie, cousin of the groom; Mary Caroline Gravis, Anne-Claire Allen and Lauren Wiegel, all of Little Rock; Rachael Harrison of Lake Village, cousin of the bride; Leigh LaMon of New York; Lindsey Shindler of Tallahassee, Fla.; and Camille Thompson of Fayetteville. They wore champagne-colored chiffon gowns and carried bouquets of white flowers, silver dollar eucalyptus and dusty miller.

Flower girls were Bryn Bethel and Kylie Majors, both of Little Rock; Caitlin Hesse of New Orleans; and Sydney Huntsman of Crossett.

The father of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were Lorcan Connick of Washington and Finnan Connick of New Orleans, brothers of the groom; William Gwyn of San Diego; Peter Connick of New Orleans, cousin of the groom; and Nicholas Gwyn, Coleman Hardie, PierreMoses, John Ransone IV, Christopher Williams and Reese Woessner, all of New Orleans. Guests were seated by Charles Calloway of Raleigh, N.C.; John Burke Jr. of Washington; James Connick and Pat Connick, both of New Orleans and cousins of the groom; and Alexander Shindler and William Christian, both of Little Rock.

A reception at The Country Club of Little Rock followed the ceremony. Guest tables held all-white arrangements of wedding flowers and flowering branches. Music was by The SoulSations of Memphis.

The bride is a cum laude graduate from the College of Charleston (S.C.) Honors College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology.She was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Psi Chi and Chi Omega. She is dean of students for pre-kindergarten through second grade at ReNew Sarah T. Reed Charter School in New Orleans.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the College of Charleston, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He is attending Loyola University College of Law, where he is a member of Moot Court and serves as alumni and public relations chairman of the Trial Advocacy Program. He is a law clerk with Herman, Herman and Katz in New Orleans.

The couple will make their home in New Orleans and plan a fall wedding trip.
