Copper theft suspected in electrocution death

POCOLA, Okla. — Oklahoma authorities say a man was found dead at an electrical transfer box at a concrete mill in Pocola and that the victim was likely stealing copper when he was killed.

Pocola police say a woman called for help regarding a man being down about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The caller also noted that electricity had gone out around the casino in Pocola.

Police in Sebastian County, Ark., said the investigation revealed the 38-year-old victim had an accomplice in the purported attempted copper theft. Police said they are looking for 45-year-old Chuck Allen Weir, who is 5-11, 180 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Police say he has relatives in Pocola and in the Arkansas River Valley area.
