Relay for Life Fundraiser

SALEM — There will be a Fulton County Relay for Life fundraiser at 1 p.m. at the Ozark Mountain Music Makers Barn, featuring music by Glory Road, the Dead Wood Band, Vicky Lynn and Lawless, and more. Donations will be accepted for admission. Pulled-pork plates, complete with baked beans, coleslaw and a drink, will cost $5 each, and to-go orders will also be available.

Aug. 5

Education Initiative Banquet

BATESVILLE — Citizens Bank and the Southside School District will reveal the recipients of $5,000 in grant money in the first Citizens Bank-Southside Education Initiative at an awards banquet at 6:30 p.m. at Elizabeth’s Restaurant in Batesville. Following the overwhelming success of its mini-grant program with the Batesville School District, Citizens Bank earlier this year decided to expand its Education Initiative to Southside. The Southside grant recipients were selected by a panel representing the Social Sciences and Secondary Education Division at Lyon College.

God’s Backyard Bible Camp VBS

Sanitation Pickup Schedule Change

SEARCY — The city of Searcy Sanitation Department has temporarily changed its hours for safety reasons because of high temperatures. Residential garbage and recycle pickup will begin at 6 a.m. All other areas of operation will remain the same. This scheduling change will remain in effect until further notice.

Cabot Alzheimer’s Support Group
