For the 20th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, to be held Oct. 19 in downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock, organizers have decided to go "All In."

That's the theme that was announced Wednesday to about 75 patrons in the Choctaw Room of the Clinton School of Public Service in Little Rock.

The phrase is intended to "encourage everyone to pull together as one unit to fight" against breast cancer, according to a news release from the Komen Foundation.

Mike Gavigan, the race's first male chairman, announced that men will be allowed to run in the race for the first time this year. He added that former President Bill Clinton will serve as honorary chairman for the race.

The photos for the annual calendar, which features men with the Little Rock police and fire departments, were also revealed at the event. Proceeds from the calendar will go to the Komen Foundation.

A recorded public service announcement by Arkansas head football coach Bret Bielema was also shown at the press conference. In the 30-second video, Bielema talked about his mother's struggle with breast cancer and encouraged Arkansans to support the race.

Race organizers will be hosting a pasta party at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock the night of Oct. 18. Race day will include a Survivor Breakfast at 6:30 a.m., a 5K run/walk and a Family Fun run/walk at 8 a.m.

The main race, a competitive 5K run, will begin at 7:30 a.m. Little Rock-based runner Leah Thorvilson has won the race twice.

The 2012 event attracted 38,000 participants and raised almost $2 million for breast cancer research, the release states.
