AERT execs to talk 2nd-quarter results

Springdale-based Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc., a plastic recycler and maker of environmentally friendly building products, has scheduled a Thursday conference call to discuss the company's second-quarter earnings.

AERT said Wednesday that for the quarter that ended June 30, it earned net income of about $2 million, up $800,000, or 68 percent, from the $1.2 million earned second quarter previous year.

Sales were $24.1 million, the company reported, up $600,000, or 2.5 percent, from second-quarter 2012 sales of $23.5 million. AERT cited improved economic conditions.

"We continue to focus on cost control, manufacturing efficiencies, and serving our customers, while developing new products to help us continue our growth," AERT President Tim Morrison said in a statement Wednesday.

Company officials will host a conference call and webcast to discuss the results at 1 p.m. Thursday. Listeners may participate in a question-and-answer session toward the end of the webcast — available at http://aert.com/ir/webcasts.aspx — by calling (877) 561-2747, the company said.

AERT operates manufacturing facilities in Springdale and Lowell and recently started operating the Green Age recycling facility in Watts, Okla.
