Mable Hardaway, 49, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threatening and theft by receiving Friday night, according to an arrest report. A child reportedly had started a fight with Hardaway’s daughter in the 5900 block of McCain Boulevard and Hardaway pulled out a handgun and told a group of children she was going to hurt them if they didn’t “leave her little girl alone,” the report said.

Hardaway told the deputies she held her hand under her shirt as if she had a gun, but didn’t actually have one, the report said. Deputies said they searched her apartment and found a gun in a bathroom that turned out to be stolen.

A Pulaski County sheriff’s deputy tried to get John Hagewood, 37, to pull over on Interstate 30 east of Geyer Springs Road about 1:20 a.m., but Hagewood didn’t comply, according to an arrest report.

Hagewood led the deputy on a chase before turning north onto Woodson Road and pulling over, the report said. After the deputy got out of his car, Hagewood took off again. He continued driving north on Woodson Road before he turned onto a concrete pad and his car got stuck in soft dirt, the report said.

Hagewood was charged with fleeing and criminal use of property, both felonies, as well as multiple misdemeanors including driving while intoxicated, speeding, and driving with a suspended license.

Hagewood was taken to the Pulaski County jail where he was being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
