Little Rock police are looking for a man who robbed and threatened two people with a knife in a hotel parking lot.
The robbery occurred at 10:45 p.m. Sunday in Little Rock at the Holiday Inn Presidential at 600 Ferry St. Little Rock resident Laura Wilson, 35, and Texas resident Charles Bingham, 26, were getting out of Wilson's car when the robber approached them from behind a U-Haul truck, the police report states.
The robber grabbed Bingham, held a knife to his stomach and demanded Wilson hand over her purse, according to the report. Wilson said she threw her purse at the robber, and he ran off toward 9th Street and Interstate 30.
Inside Wilson's purse was $75, debit and credit cards and a black iPhone 5, according to the report. Authorities first used a tracking application to locate Wilson's iPhone at 65th St. and University Ave.; but when officers arrived to the area, the tracking application noted the phone was moving toward a McDonald's on Markham and University Ave., the report states.
At the McDonald's, authorities spoke to employee Varoneca Gutierrez, 35, who said she purchased an iPhone from a black male at a gas station at 65th St. and University Ave.
Gutierrez said the man was heavily intoxicated, and she gave him $80 for the phone because he asked for it.
Gutierrez also said she saw the suspect get out of a gold 2000 Chevy pickup on the passenger side, but said she was too far away to see the driver. She said she didn't think to look at the iPhone until she was driving on University Avenue and noticed a white couple's photo on the screen, the report states.
The iPhone was returned to Wilson, and no suspects have been identified at this time, according to the report.
