Teen beaten, robbed of shoes in Little Rock home

A 19-year-old Little Rock man was beaten and robbed by two men who entered his home through an unlocked door and escaped with several pairs of tennis shoes, authorities said.

It happened shortly before 10:15 p.m. Monday at a home in the 100 block of Bentley Boulevard.

The victim told investigators he was in his room listening to headphones when two robbers came in, beat him with a black handgun, struck him with a candle and stomped him, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The men took four pairs of shoes — including one pair of Air Jordans and one pair of Nike Air Max shoes — before fleeing when the victim's mother yelled about the noise, the report said. The woman did not know the robbery was happening, police said.

Authorities believe the men entered the residence through an unlocked door that connected to the garage. The garage door had reportedly been left open.

The victim had visible injuries, including cuts to the side and back of his head, but he declined treatment.

The robbers are described as black teens between 15 and 18 years old with light builds. One stood about 5-foot-7 and weighed about 150 pounds while the other stood about 5-foot-10.
