Authorities on Friday released a short video and additional details about a pickup believed to be involved in a fatal shooting of a driver Wednesday night at a busy North Little Rock intersection.
North Little Rock Police Department Chief Mike Davis said police are looking for a dark maroon 2007 to 2010 Ford F-150 with tinted windows, chrome wheels and a possible chrome bumper. A toolbox or welding box, possibly orange, was in the bed.
Samantha Cass Olson, 31, was shot shortly after 7 p.m. while driving at John F. Kennedy and McCain boulevards with her infant child in the backseat, police said.
Davis said surveillance cameras also lead investigators to believe the pickup continued westbound on McCain to 47th Street and then turned left on Camp Robinson Road, going south to the I-40 area.
Police asked for anyone along those routes to report anything they may have seen and to double check surveillance systems that may have captured the pickup.
"We really need to speak to the owner of that vehicle or the occupants of that vehicle," Davis said.
Davis said a "sizable reward" is being offered for information leading to an arrest, though he declined to specify how much. He said it will likely grow larger over the weekend.
The infant in the car was not injured and was released to her father after being checked out as a precaution at Arkansas Children's Hospital.
The motive for the shooting isn't known, and police said they had few leads beyond the description of the vehicle from which the shooter fired.
A department spokesman said Thursday that investigators had "different perspectives" about whether the shooting was targeted or random.
Davis said at the same afternoon news conference that a reward is also being offered in the death of George Zumwalt, whose body was found Sunday in a wooded area on Batesville Pike. He stressed that the cases are not believed to be related.
North Little Rock Police Sgt. Brian Dedrick said anyone with information on either case should call the agency tip line at (501) 680-8439.
