A man accused of fatally stabbing another man outside a Little Rock liquor store was ordered held without bail during a preliminary court appearance Thursday.
Harlon Finney, 44, is charged with capital murder in the death of Billy Howard, who was fatally stabbed Saturday during a disturbance in the drive-through lane of Baseline Liquor at 8524 Base Line Road.
Finney was arrested Wednesday morning after police tracked him to a gas station at 12th Street and Rodney Parham Drive.
He didn't speak during the brief appearance by video before Little Rock District Court Judge Alice Lightle, who ordered him held without bail and also entered a preliminary innocent plea.
Prosecutors during the hearing said a witness described seeing the disturbance Saturday, during which a man later identified as Finney struck Howard in the throat. The witness later realized Howard had been stabbed, prosecutors said.
Howard was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
