Drivers traveling north on U.S. 67 in White County will have to take a detour Saturday morning, highway officials said Thursday.
Motorists must take Exit 51 at the U.S. 157 interchange, then travel east to U.S. 367, Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said in a statement. Drivers will be detoured north to Bald Knob where they can re-enter U.S. 67. The detour will be in place between 6 and 11 a.m., the department said.
Construction workers will reconstruct five miles of a single travel lane on U.S. 67, according to the news release. The project is expected to cost more than $19 million and is set to finish by summer 2014, officials said.
Officials ask motorists to be alert and exercise caution while traveling through construction zones.
