A North Little Rock woman is suspected of cutting another woman with a knife and then cutting herself, authorities said.
Lisa Smith, 46, was arrested early Friday morning on a charge of second-degree battery.
Police say the victim was in an argument with Smith about 1:15 a.m. at a residence in the 1300 block of Cypress Street when Smith attacked her with the knife, causing a large laceration on the victim's arm, according to a North Little Rock police report.
The victim said she was ultimately able to get the knife, put it to Smith's throat and order her to leave, police said.
Officers later found Smith, who was covered in blood and had a cut on her left leg, the report said. She reportedly said the other woman first attacked her and caused the injury to her leg.
But, police said, the victim's story "seems to match better" because there was no blood trail leading from the Cypress Street residence and because a second, bloody knife was observed on top of Smith's purse.
"This leads me to believe Smith actually cut herself," police wrote in the report.
Smith remained in the Pulaski County jail Friday morning with bail set at $13,025. A court appearance is set for Tuesday.
