Robert Johnson III, 20, was picked up by police at Colonel Glenn and Talley roads early Tuesday night and charged in an Aug. 12 carjacking.

According to police, Zatoric McFerguson was sitting in his 2006 Ford Crown Victoria with a few others outside of Citi Trends at 3901 S. University Ave. about 2:30 a.m. A blue car pulled up, and a man came to McFerguson’s window and put a gun to his head.

The gunman took one of the passenger’s phones. He then pistol-whipped McFerguson, causing the gun to fire, reports state. The shot did not strike anyone.

The suspect took off with the vehicle, but according to detectives, some of McFerguson’s friends were hanging out in the parking lot and recognized the gunman.

They eventually sent him pictures of the man on Facebook, and after confirming it was the man who struck him with the pistol, McFerguson sent the photos to Little Rock detectives.

There are at least two other suspects in the robbery who have not been arrested. They were identified in the arrest affidavit as Markist Hampton, 19, and Deshawn Ford, 18.

A Little Rock woman was robbed of $3,000 in a home invasion early Tuesday afternoon.

Candice Hoffman, 32, answered the door of her 4316 Boyd St. residence shortly after noon, when a man came to the door asking for water so he could cool down his truck.

Hoffman told police she went to the kitchen and took the man a pitcher of water, but as she handed it to him on the front porch, the man pulled a gun and pointed it at her.

She slammed the door and locked it, but the man kicked it open and came inside, firing several shots into the ceiling, police said.

The gunman was joined by two other suspects, one of whom was also armed, and accosted the other residents, reports state.

According to police, one of the suspects confronted Brenda Jones, 49, and she gave them “all her life’s savings,” roughly $3,000.

The suspects also made off with four tires.

The gunman who came to the door is described as a 5-foot, 135-pound white man with “reddish” hair and a slim build.

The other gunman was a 5-foot-8, 170-pound black man in blue jeans and a bandanna. There was no description of the third man.

After the robbery, the three hopped into a 2008 white Toyota Tundra and drove off.
