Country singer Tyler Farr headlines a concert at 7 p.m. Saturday on Union Square, 101 N. Washington St., El Dorado. The concert follows Main Street El Dorado’s “Showdown at Sunset” gunfight re-creation, 6 p.m. on the steps of the Union County Courthouse in the center of the square.

The Ozark Folk Center State Park will mark the 100th birthday of the late performer Grandpa Jones, who resided for many years in Mountain View, where the state park is located, with a pair of tribute concerts. Grammy-winning guitarist David Holt, storyteller, historian, television host and former Doc Watson sideman, will headline at 7 p.m. Friday, with Ronnie Reno and the Reno Tradition headlining at 7 p.m. Saturday. Doors open at 6. Jones’ widow, Ramona, and the Jones Family Band will perform on the front half of both programs, as well as in 2 p.m. “Remembering Grandpa” shows each day. Admission to those afternoon shows is included in the daytime craft ticket - $12, $6 kids 6-12, free for kids under 6. Evening concert admission is the same price. It’s premiere weekend for a film made in Arkansas by Arkansans.

Pregnant by the Pastor: The Aftermath premieres at the Statehouse Convention Center at 4:30, 6, 7:30, 9 and 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10. There’s also a black/white tie Red Carpet celebration at 7 p.m. Friday at the Doubletree Hotel.

On the comedy cavalcade: Comedian Owen Benjamin, a regular on the TBS series Sullivan & Son, will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center, Arkansas State University-Mountain Home, 1600 S. Matt Davis, who recently headlined a 12-show “Operation Laughter” tour for U.S. troops in the Middle East and Africa, covering nine bases in five countries, headlines shows at 7:30 p.m. today and Sunday ($7) and 7:30 and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday ($10) at the Loony Bin Comedy Club, Breckenridge Village Shopping Center, Interstate 430 and North Rodney Parham Road.

Arkansas State University’s Bradbury Gallery in the Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro, opens its 2013-14 season today with two concurrent exhibitions (on display through Sept. 29): “An Odyssey of Dreams: A Decade of Paintings by Basil Alkazzi, 2003-2012,” featuring 34 paintings in conjunction with the Kuwaiti-born artist’s 75th birthday, making its first stop on a tour of U.S. university art galleries and museums through 2014; and “Drawings by Carroll Cloar,” marking a century since the Arkansas artist’s birth. The Arkansas Arts Center transforms itself for an English Garden Party Family Festival, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday. Families can experience an old-fashioned day in the park as part of the “Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: The Treasures of Kenwood House, London,” exhibit, continuing through Sept. 8. Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park will be awash in crafts, artisans, square dancing and music during its annual Clothesline Fair, Saturday-Monday. Most activities will take place 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday and 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, with square dancing at 7 p.m. Saturday and Monday. When not taking part in activities, guests are welcome to explore.

9 CLINTON

It’s action and excitement with four wheels and eight legs as the National Championship Chuckwagon Races come to a close Sunday at the Bar Of Ranch in Clinton. Events have already begun, with cook-offs, trail rides and music, but the races themselves move into high gear this weekend with races Friday-Sunday. Admission is $25, $12.50 for children ages 6-12. 10 CONFEDERATE

A pair of Confederate brigadier generals settled a score the gentlemanly way back in 1863 and historians will remember the occasion at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Saturday. The anniversary of the duel between John Sappington Marmaduke and Lucius Marshall Walker will be recounted and re-enacted on the grounds of the Plantation Agriculture Museum, 4815 Arkansas 161, Scott.
