Bridge painting will require lane closures on U.S. 67 and Race Avenue in Searcy next week, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.
Crews will be hanging equipment and painting the U.S. 67 overpass in work that had been scheduled to start Thursday but was delayed. The work will shut one northbound lane and possibly a southbound lane on U.S. 67, plus one lane in each direction on Race Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, highway officials said.
Work will continue at 8 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting, and nighttime work will continue for two weeks, the department said. Only one eastbound and one westbound lane of Race will be closed during that time.
The Highway Department said cones, barrels and warning signs will be used to alert drivers.
