Gov. Mike Beebe ordered all Arkansas flags to fly at half-staff this weekend to honor an Arkansas soldier that was killed in combat this week.
Sgt. First Class Ricardo D. Young of Rosston died Wednesday as a result of wounds he suffered when his unit was attacked by insurgents with small-arms fire, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Defense.
Young, 34, was a member of the 307th Engineering Battalion (Combat/Airborne), 20th Engineer Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps based out of Fort Bragg, N.C. He was killed in the Ghanzi Province of Afghanistan.
The governor's office sent out a tweet Friday morning ordering the flags fly at half-staff Friday until sundown Sunday.
