Simmons First keeps 21-cent dividend

Simmons First National Corp. has again declared a 21-cent quarterly cash dividend.

The Pine Bluff-based banker said the dividend will be payable Oct. 1 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 16. The dividend is a 1-cent, or 5 percent, increase over the dividend in the same period of 2012.

The 21-cent dividend was first declared in February and paid April 1. Simmons had offered a 20-cent dividend each quarter the year before that.

Simmons First is an eight-bank financial holding company with banks in El Dorado, Hot Springs, Jonesboro, Lake Village, Pine Bluff, Rogers, Russellville and Searcy. It operates 96 offices in 55 cities in Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas.
