Fog brings delayed, canceled Little Rock flights

Dense fog in central Arkansas has caused delayed and canceled flights in and out of Little Rock's airport on Tuesday.

The heavy fog lingered into Tuesday afternoon, when more than two dozen cancellations and numerous delays were on the board at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.

Airport spokesman Shane Carter said the fog lifted enough as 3 p.m. approached for some planes to land safely. A number of flights were diverted to other airports, while some aircraft circled to give the fog a chance to lift, according to Carter.

But Carter said that the fog returned after sunset and airlines were deciding on flight cancellations.

The fog is forecast to linger into Wednesday and people with morning flights are advised to check with their carriers before traveling to the airport.
