Prosecutors: No death penalty for Conway suspect

CONWAY — Prosecutors say they won't seek the execution of a woman charged in the shooting death of a man outside a Conway motel last Father's Day.

Nineteen-year-old Sierra Cook was charged initially with hindering the capture of another suspect, but prosecutors in September filed a capital murder charge against her. The Log Cabin Democrat newspaper reported that prosecutors said Monday they wouldn't seek Cook's execution.

Quenton Alexander was shot dead in June; another man was wounded at the same incident.

The state will seek the death penalty for 27-year-old Lee Andrew Foster. Police say Alexander and Foster were cousins and had been in an ongoing feud before the shooting.

Foster has a Jan. 29 pretrial hearing. Cook is due back in court Feb. 3. Both are being held pending trial.
