Woman with pry bar faces assault charge, report says

A woman is accused of brandishing a pry bar during a disturbance at a Little Rock residence.

Police say officers went to 300 Keightley Drive about 6:30 p.m. Monday to investigate a disturbance.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, officers heard "loud talking" between a man and a woman and could see the woman holding a pry bar above her head "as if she were going to strike the male."

Police made entry into the home, at which point the woman dropped the pry bar, the report said. The report did not indicate the victim was ever struck.

The woman, identified as 37-year-old Dawn Nysten, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Nysten remained in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday morning with bail not yet set.
