Pryor invokes faith ahead of 2014 election

LITTLE ROCK — Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor is invoking his Christian faith ahead of next year's election in his latest political speech and campaign ad.

Pryor cited the Bible as he spoke to the Political Animals Club in Little Rock on Wednesday morning.

And he discusses his faith in a new television ad that his campaign says will begin airing in Arkansas on Wednesday.

In the ad, Pryor professes his belief in God. And in talking to the political group in Little Rock, he referred to the golden rule and a Bible verse as he discussed political gridlock in Washington.

Pryor is the lone Democrat in Arkansas' congressional delegation.

He's seeking a third term against Republican challenger and U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton.

Cotton represents south Arkansas' 4th District.
