COLLEGE FOOTBALL Arkansas offers Rogers linebacker

Linebacker Zack Wary of Rogers received a scholarship offer from Arkansas during an in-home visit from tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. on Sunday but didn’t go public with the news until Tuesday night.

Wary, 6-4, 215 pounds, also has scholarship offers from Arkansas State, Air Force, Illinois State, Memphis, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Missouri State and others. Oklahoma State and Auburn are showing interest and plan to visit the school soon.

“I was very excited,” Wary said of his offer from Arkansas. “I was like, wow, this is a big deal. I thought it was pretty cool. It gives me more to think about. I guess we’ll see how things go.”

Wary plans to make an official visit to Arkansas on Dec. 13. He also has visits planned for Arkansas State on Jan. 17 and Air Force on Jan. 24 and wants to weigh his offers and interest from other schools before making a decision.

Wary, who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds at the Arkansas’ Elite Prospect camp in July, has a 4.0 grade-point average and has scored a 33 on the ACT.
