Police search for a suspect in a bank robbery Friday morning in downtown Little Rock.

Little Rock police have taken a suspect into custody after a robbery that occurred at Centennial Bank on Friday.

It happened about 10 a.m. at the branch located at 718 S. Broadway St.

Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said in a statement that the robber demanded a bank teller give him money. He then ran from the bank.

A police dog tracked a suspect to a vehicle, but the vehicle fled before the officer was able to make contact with the driver, Allen said. The vehicle was later found abandoned in an area located near 6th and Rock streets.

Spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said 36-year-old Michael Davis was taken into custody at 400 E. Sixth St. in a statement Friday evening. Michael Davis has been charged with aggravated robbery, theft of property and fleeing, according to the Pulaski County sheriff's office inmate roster.

Uh... Lets see here... Snow and ice on the ground.... Very few people out... Hmmmm think it might be easy to track someone's footsteps and tire tracks? Not much of a high speed chase either.. Brilliant robber I guess

You can bank on it. Some halfwit will do a robbery and get caught before the sun goes down on Monday. Maybe what this state and this country need most is a branch of Obamacare that does nothing but brain scans, alterations and transplants. Incarceration, the occasional swat team taking out a suspect, education at all levels, family and institution moral persuasion—none of this works. I won’t live to see it, but sooner or later we will evolve to the point where we’ll look back on this era with awe that we were not smart enough to prevent crimes of mental idiocy rather than wait until they happen to clean up an expensive and futile mess. If you think the tax expense would be prohibitive, you might want to look at the cost of remedial/punitive crime and stupidity as it exists right now—and will be in future decades before we wise-up. Just something else to think about as we’re all holed up under ice.

Education does work. Many parts of the country have good schools, good social services, and low crime. Let's not blame it on the color of people's skin. Maryland has more blacks than Arkansas, and the areas with good schools have low crime.
