Traffic is congested on Interstate 40 westbound near Mayflower following an accident that occurred Saturday morning when a tractor-trailer lost control and hit another vehicle, a state police dispatcher said.

The dispatcher said unspecified injuries were reported, but that they were minor.

The accident occurred about 8:22 a.m. when the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control of their vehicle, spun sideways and struck a second vehicle that was parked on the highway's shoulder, the dispatcher said.

Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department Spokesman Danny Straessle said that crews have had "a lot of success" in getting Central Arkansas highways to a good condition, however he said that there are still a couple of "slick spots."
