Delta authority to announce investment in east Arkansas

MARIANNA — The Delta Regional Authority is scheduled to announce plans to renovate a former elementary school in eastern Arkansas to help youth prepare for jobs.

The authority says a former elementary will be renovated so it can be used by the STRIVE Institute of Technology. The STRIVE program will provide students aged 14-19 from Lee, Monroe, Phillips, and St. Francis counties with a development program and summer work and internship opportunities in the region.

The announcement is planned for Tuesday at the former Anna Strong Elementary School in Marianna.
