Pulaski, LR and NLR schools to open on time Tuesday

The Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pulaski County Special school districts say all of their schools will open on time Tuesday.

The districts were among a number of school districts around the state that closed Friday because of an arriving winter storm and then Monday because its lingering effects.

Deb Roush, spokesman for the Pulaski County Special School District, said officials made the call to return to a normal schedule after a 4 p.m. meeting Monday.

"About 85 to 90 percent" of the Pulaski County roads that the school buses use are clear, Roush said, adding that bus drivers will communicate with families in more rural areas to determine a safe pick-up point.

The North Little Rock School District said in a statement Monday afternoon that school will "begin at the regular time at all campuses."

In a statement on its website, the Little Rock School District said "buses and schools will operate on their regular schedule."
