Title games, playoffs resume this week

LITTLE ROCK — Three high school football championship games are set for this weekend after being postponed for a winter storm.

Top-ranked Bentonville plays second-ranked Cabot on Friday night for the Class 7A championship. There's a chance of rain with temperatures expected to be in the 30s and 40s. The game was set for last Friday but was postponed when the state had an ice storm.

Saturday's title games include No. 2 Pine Bluff and No. 3 El Dorado playing for the Class 6A championship at 6:30 p.m. In a day game, No. 3 Batesville and unranked Morrilton meet for the Class 5A title.

Smaller schools are in the semifinal stage. Their title games will be played the weekend before Christmas.
