A head-on collision in Searcy County on Wednesday morning killed both drivers, the Arkansas State Police said.
Katherine Horton, 31, of Leslie was driving south on U.S. 65 when her 2004 Chevrolet crossed the centerline and struck a 2009 GMC driven by Phillip Donaldson, 48, of Mountain View, according to a preliminary state police accident report. The accident happened at 11:45 a.m. about a mile north of Leslie, state police said
Both Horton and Donaldson died as a result of the crash, making them the 449th and 450th people to die in accidents on Arkansas roads this year, state police said.
The weather was clear and the roads were dry at the time of the accident.
