Commencements set for Arkansas universities

Thousands of students will graduate from Arkansas universities in commencement ceremonies in the next two weeks.

On Saturday, more than 1,000 students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock are expected walk across the stage at the Jack Stephens Center in two separate ceremonies, while 1,200 Arkansas State University students in Jonesboro will hear Queretero, Mexico, Gov. Jose Eduardo Calzada Roviroso speak as they graduate.

At the University at Central Arkansas in Conway, 707 students have planned to participate in the commencement ceremony Saturday at the Farris Health and Physical Wellness Center, and more than 220 undergraduate and graduate students at Henderson State University will receive their academic degrees at the Wells Center gymnasium.

At the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, about 900 students will participate in the commencement ceremony starting at 9 a.m. Dec. 21 at Barnhill Arena. About 1,900 undergraduate and graduate students have applied for fall graduation, according to the university.

Most Arkansas universities will make available online live streams of the commencement ceremonies.
