With all the talk about carbon footprints and recycling and the dangers of chemicals, it’s no wonder “green” products have flooded the market.
The average person would be forgiven for being a bit confused and weary from sorting through the long lists of earth-friendly companies looking for a product that will make them feel less guilty about the damage they’re doing to the planet every time they load the washing machine.
GreenShield Organic is clear in its effort to protect the three “P’s”: people, pets, planet. They bill their line of laundry detergent as the first USDA-certified organic detergent on the market.
There are no harsh chemicals or synthetic preservatives. The ingredients list includes stuff like organic soap berries, coconut oil, sea salt, aloe vera and glycerine. It’s all pronounceable and, if it isn’t, they include a layman’s definition in parentheses.
The detergent is nontoxic, hypo-allergenic and is not tested on animals. In short, it’s safe for everyone and everything, including the septic tank. Well, except for grease, dirt and grime. It attacks those.
Don’t expect to see fluffy bubbles, though. The detergent is low-suds.
The detergent comes in three scents: Lavender, Magnolia & Poppy and Free & Clear.
