Holiday from the Heart

CONWAY — Because of inclement weather, the Holiday from the Heart Hometown Shopping Extravaganza at Sacred Heart Catholic School has been rescheduled for today. A chili lunch will be served. Holiday Jazz Romance

CONWAY — Simona Donova and Michael Yoder will perform at the Faulkner County Library at 2 p.m. Their program, Holiday Jazz Romance, includes popular tunes from movies and songs with a Christmas theme, presented in the duo’s unique style — a combination of flute and bass in a jazz-performance setting. The free event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Winter Wonderland

RUSSELLVILLE — The Winter Wonderland drive-thru light display and full Nativity/petting zoo will be open from 6-10 nightly through Dec. 22. Donations of $5 will be accepted. Santa will be present Friday and Saturday, and again Dec. 20-22. Festivities will be held at Pleasant View Park. From Interstate 40, take exit 81 to Arkansas 7 North and go one mile. Santa’s Workshop for Kids

MAUMELLE — Santa’s Workshop for Kids, a kids’ day out, will be held from 1-5 p.m. at 1100 Edgewood Drive. Parents can drop off children ages 5 and older. The cost is $25 per child, but space is limited. The children will make Christmas decorations and treats and bring home finished projects. The event is hosted by the Maumelle Youth Council and the Maumelle Parks and Recreation Department.

League of Artists Christmas Show

CONWAY — The annual Conway League of Artists Christmas Show and Sale will be on exhibit through Dec. 28 at the Faulkner County Library. Master Naturalists Class of 2014

CONWAY — The Central Arkansas Master Naturalists are accepting applications for the class of 2014. Training will begin Jan. 12 at the Witt Stephens Nature Center in Little Rock’s River Market District. The mission of the Master Naturalist organization is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas in their communities. Friends of the Library Book Shop

HEBER SPRINGS — The Friends of The Library Book Shop, 2255 Arkansas 25B N., is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The shop offers a large variety of books at bargain prices. Trout Day Rescheduling

RUSSELLVILLE — Trout Day has been rescheduled for Jan. 11. The event, hosted by the Caddis Fly Fishing Club, the Russellville Recreation and Parks Department, and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Pleasant View Park. A fishing license and trout permit (stamp) are required for people 16 or older, and all trout regulations will be enforced. The limit of five rainbow trout will apply for this seasonal trout-fishing event. For more information, call the Hughes Center at (479) 968-1272.
