Hundreds howled for the Arkansas State University's Red Wolves on the Capitol building's front steps Monday afternoon to show their support for the Sun Belt Conference team in the GoDaddy.com Bowl.

The Red Wolves are returning to Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 5 to play in the 15th annual GoDaddy.com Bowl for a third straight season, according to the sponsor's website.

The Red Wolves will face Ball State University's Cardinals from Muncie, Ind., at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Ball State University is in the Mid-American Conference.

Gov. Mike Beebe, as well as several Arkansas House of Representative members and Arkansas Department of Higher Education Director Shane Broadway, attended the event. Beebe and Broadway are Arkansas State University alumni.

"I encourage anybody and everybody that can to help represent the state of Arkansas to go down to Mobile and put on a show, because these bowls look at fan support and how well teams travel," Beebe said. "The reason why we're in Mobile this year [is] because nobody has traveled to that bowl better than Arkansas State and Arkansas State fans."

Last year, the Red Wolves won the bowl 17-13 against Kent State University, but the team lost 38-20 to Northern Illinois University in 2011.
