Police arrest 3, say driver tossed drugs

A driver accused of throwing drugs out of a car window before a traffic stop and his two passengers were arrested Sunday, according to Arkansas State Police arrest reports.

Robert Munns, 27, of North Little Rock, Deshun Hollis, 35, and Jasmine Washington, 22, both of Little Rock, were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and possession of cocaine. Munns also faces felony fleeing, driving while intoxicated and other traffic charges.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m., troopers tried to stop an Infiniti that passed a law-enforcement officer on the shoulder of Interstate 630. The driver, later identified by authorities as Munns, began fleeing, reports state.

According to reports, Munns threw drugs and baggies out of the driver’s-side window before troopers stopped the car near Chester Street. Authorities found two baggies of cocaine between Hollis’ legs, but Munns told troopers they were his, arrest reports state.

All three were arrested and taken to the Pulaski County jail, where they were awaiting bail hearings.

A North Little Rock man was arrested Saturday morning after reportedly threatening to stab his brother with a steak knife, police said.

Police responded shortly before 11 a.m. to a home in the 4200 block of Evenfall Lane. Michael Overman, 38, had been cursing at his mother when his brother intervened on her behalf, according to an arrest report. Overman is accused of grabbing the knife, pointing it at his brother andsaying, “I’m about to stab you

Overman was charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member and making terroristic threats. He was being held in Pulaski County jail late Sunday.

man held on DWI

A Little Rock man unintentionally caused his arrestwhen he flagged down a police officer for help Friday, according to an arrest report.

Leotis McBride, 53, was driving east on West 22nd Street when he began waving at the officer and parked his car, according to the report. McBride approached the officer’s passenger-side window and said his brother had taken his money.

That’s when the officer was “hit by an overwhelming scent of intoxicants” from McBride’s breath, according to the report.

McBride was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a blood, breath or urine test. He had been released from Pulaski County jail by late Friday.
