Memphis man charged with sexual assault of teen

A Memphis man is in custody after he sexually assaulted his stepdaughter repeatedly, police say.

Michael Bryant, 48, was arrested at a Memphis gas station on a warrant charging him with sexual battery by an authority figure, according to a statement from the Shelby County sheriff’s office.

Bryant, who serves as a pastor at Hour of Restoration COGIC, was taken into custody at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The Memphis Police Department said an investigation revealed Bryant had been sexually assaulting the 16-year-old girl off and on for the past two years, most recently Monday.
