Ex-Fayetteville officer accused of rape

FAYETTEVILLE — A former Fayetteville police officer has a January court date to face rape charges.

Fayetteville police say former officer Jamison Stiles was arrested Friday in an attack in November against a woman at an apartment complex where he also worked as a security guard.

Stiles was fired from the department Dec. 16 for refusing to cooperate in the rape investigation and for other infractions. A day later, a former Fayetteville police dispatcher told investigators that Stiles raped her at her home while he was on duty.

Fayetteville television station KHOG reported that Stiles bonded out of the Washington County jail on Sunday and that he has a Jan. 24 court appearance
