Man gets in car stopped at light, police say

An intoxicated Jacksonville man was arrested Monday afternoon after he got into a car stopped at a Little Rock traffic light, authorities said.

John Binns, 31, was charged with criminal trespass and public intoxication.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, Binns about 3:30 p.m. "jumped into the passenger side door of [a] vehicle stopped" at the light at Roosevelt Road and Bond Street.

"Owner of vehicle does not know Mr. Binns," the arresting officer wrote in the report.

Police added that Binns smelled strongly of intoxicants and was unsteady on his feet.

Binns was not listed as an inmate at the Pulaski County jail Tuesday morning. A court date is set Monday.
