Arkadelphia man killed in Montgomery County crash

An Arkadelphia man was killed Wednesday when the car he was driving crossed the centerline in a curve and struck an oncoming vehicle in Montgomery County, authorities said.

Hugh W. Brown, 66, was driving a 2004 Mercury Sable east on U.S. 270 in Pencil Bluff when the car crossed the centerline in a curve about 2:45 p.m., Arkansas State Police said.

According to an accident report, the Sable hit the left front of a westbound 2013 Toyota.

Brown died from unspecified injuries. Three people in the Toyota, 46-year-old driver Angelina Lewis, 20-year-old passenger Forest Davis and 14-year-old passenger Lileah Davis, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. The extent of their injuries wasn't clear.

The death was the 464th fatality in a traffic accident so far this year, according to preliminary Arkansas State Police figures.
