CARL DEAN CECIL, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lordon Wednesday, December 25, 2013, born on June 29, 1944 to the late WJ and Bessie Dickerson Cecil.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mary Lee Lewis, and four brothers,Glenn William Cecil, Clarence Howard Cecil, Ralph Evans Cecil and Bobby Gene Cecil. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy Carr Cecil and a daughter, Anna Marie Cecil.

EMMA LOU PERRY DUNCAN, born October 24, 1930 to GarnettL. and Bertha Johnson Perry, went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2013. Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Mitchel, daughter Debbie Duncan Seymore,son Perry Duncan, brother Bryon Perry, sisters Pauline Perry, Naomi Hodges, Oletta Vaughan, Joyce Staggs and Claudine Rodriquez. She is survived by one sister Maxine Burford, daughter Donna Passini of Little Rock, son Lynn Duncan (Kathy) of Alexander, son-in-law Charles (Butch) Seymore, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Emma fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of Otter Creek Baptist Church. She was an amazing woman with great love for her family and friends. Emma was loved and will be greatly missed.

CATHRINE JOHNSON MARSHALL, 75, of Jacksonvile,passed away December 25, 2013. She was born April 21, 1938 in Bauxite to the late Richard and Rosa Opal Kitchens Johnson. Cathrine was retired from the Internal RevenueService working there from 1982 till 2005. She was a Boy Scout Leader and was the recipient of the honorary Silver Beaver Scout Award. Cathrine was also an avid golfer, making a hole in one at the Internal Revenue Service Golf Tournament. She loved gardening and especially bird watching. She was preceded in death by her parents and eldest son, Tilford W. Marshall II.

MARY E. McKOY was born August 17, 1914 in the city of BattleCreek, Michigan and departed this life on December 21, 2013 at the age of 99. Preceded in death by husband, Robert McKoy; Stepdaughter Dorothy Mc-Donald, parents,George Garfield Cheatham. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Laverne Cheatham, Hamilton Cheatham, Charles Cheatham, Willie Cheatham, Paul Leonard Cheatham and Hubert Cheatham, sisters, Grace Manning Green, Catherine Daniels and Jeannie Wells.

She is survived by one daughter; Grace Eleanor McKoy Taylor (Shelby) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, one granddaughter, TiffanyM. Taylor Doskeland (Bjorn) of Star, Idaho; two great-grandchildren; Runar Doskeland and Aaliyah Doskeland, of Star, Idaho, and a host of nieces and nephews. She loved people watching and loved to be around people and loved animals. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

DONNA JEAN NICHOLS, 60, of Little Rock, passed away December 24, 2013. She was born in Rochelle, Ill., to Hugh T. and Helen Marie Johnson Nicklaus and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She had a long and distinguishedcareer in banking in Little Rock, followed by 13 years as a Cash Manager and Auditor with the Pulaski County Treasurer.

Preceded in death by her father, she is survived by her husband of 42 years, Paul Nichols; children, Ann Nichols of Little Rock, Matthew Nichols of Eugene, Ore., Nicole Herren and husband, Michael of West Memphis, and Melissa Cuevas and husband, Jose of Little Rock; her mother, Helen Nicklaus of Little Rock; sister, Janet Pucci (Dennis) of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother, Jerry Nicklaus (RoseMary) of Greenville, South Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.

ROBERT “BOB” ALLEN ROSEN, of Little Rock, passed away December 24, 2013 at age of 66. He was the son of Leatrice “Lit” Block Rosen and the late Abe Sklar Rosen. He was born in Little Rock, Ark., on July 4, 1947.

He is survived by his mother;two sons and their spouses, Sam and Melanie Rosen of Brooklyn, New York, and Dr. Christopher Rosen and Dr. Sarah Lueke of Fayetteville, Ark.; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Henry, and Adeline Rosen of Brooklyn, New York, and Oliver Rosen of Fayetteville, Ark. He is also survived by two brothers, Dr. Rich Rosen and wife, Millie Zweir of Amherst, Mass., and Dr. Ron Rosen and wife, Nicki Rosen of Berea, Ky., as well as nephews, Rich Rosen and wife, Kim Rosen of Villa Hills, Ky., Alex Rosen and wife, Amanda of Covington, Ky., and James Rosen of San Francisco, Calif.

Bob graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock, Ark., and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hendrix College in 1969.

Following college, he was enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving his country from 1969 to 1972. Following his military service, he worked for Block Mortgage Company, Block Realty Company and, later, started Bob Rosen Realty. For the two past decades, Mr. Rosen worked as a real estate agent for Adkins, McNeill, Smith, & Associates.

He was well known in the local real estate community for his integrity, honesty, and breadth of knowledge about the local markets, having served as a sales agent in Little Rock since the 1970s.

A private funeral service will be held on December 29. A reception for friends and family will follow at the Temple B’nai Israel at 1:30 p.m.

ARKADELPHIA - Hugh W. Brown, age 66, of Arkadelphia, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 as the result of an auto accident. He was born July 10, 1947 the son of Ollie Lee and Eunice Ferguson Brown. Hugh worked for Henderson State University for several years and retired from Arkansas Human Development Center in Arkadelphia. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Les Brown and his wife Tammy, Uncle David Ferguson and his wife Fran, and Aunt Vida Ferguson, all of Arkadelphia, and several nieces and nephews.

BENTON - Orville Roberts, 93, of Benton, passed away December 24, 2013. He was born November 19, 1920 near Harrison, Arkansas to the late A.C. and Mettie Roberts. He was happily married to the late Fae Dean Roberts for 65 years. He graduated from Harrison High School, Ouachita Baptist University, and Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee. He was proud to have served as a Marine Corps officer during World War II and The Korean Conflict and was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton.

Mr. Roberts enjoyed time with his students while serving as teacher, coach, and principal at DeWitt Arkansas, and as principal and superintendent at Paragould School District. He was pleased to serve as an Executive Committee member of the Arkansas Activities Association from 1975-1982.

He was grateful to God for his 31 years of retirement, and enjoyed gardening, fishing, sports, Sunday school class and his family.

He is survived by one son, Don Roberts and wife Cheryl of Springfield, Missouri; one daughter Judy Yearry and husband Allan of Benton; and four grandsons, Baron and Josh Roberts, and Brent and John Yearry.

BRYANT - Harold C. Jones, 89, of Bryant, passed away on December 25, 2013 with his family by his side.

He was born on October 12, 1924 to the late, Bruce and Vergie Hill Jones in Lonoke Co., Arkansas. Harold enjoyed being outdoors especially going hunting and fishing. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church for over 10 years and retired after 36 years from Arkansas Power and Light. Harold served in the 82nd Airborne in War War II as a Paratrooper. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruby Dunn Jones; one daughter, Kathy J. Smith (Robert); granddaughter, Nikki and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.

BRYANT - Ruth Wells, 69, of Bryant, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at The Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Ruth was born July 18, 1944 to Richard E. and Sarah Elizabeth (Strong) Davidson in Gurdon, Arkansas.

Ruth was a member of the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in Benton, Arkansas. Ruth loved flowers, birds, her grandchildren and the river. Ruth was preceded in death by her mother and father and infant brother Samuel Davidson.

Ruth is survived by her husband Tommy Wells of Bryant, Ark., three daughters Lisa Wells, Stephanie Vaughan (Curtis) and Amy Garrett (Lawton) all of Fayetteville, Ark.; two brothers, Jimmy Davidson (LeElna) and Dickie Davidson all of Gurdon, Ark.; five grandchildren Alexander Wells, Jacob Vaughan, Sarah Vaughan, Greyson Garrett and Hudson Garrett all of Fayetteville, Ark.

CAMDEN - Annie Mae Oliver, 91 of Camden, Ark. passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, December 21, 2013. She was born December 2, 1922 in Milo, Ark. to Samuel Raymond and Mary Etta Bolin Pennington. She was a member of Cullendale Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Raymond and Mary Etta Bolin Pennington; husband, Odis Oliver; and great-granddaughter, Jillian Weise.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Clotfelter and husband, Charles of Whitney, Texas; grandchildren, Charlotte Stephensen and husband, Ken of Salt Lake City, Utah and Cynthia Stick and husband, Tony of Frisco, Texas; five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

FAYETTEVILLE - Theressa Hoover, 88, a dedicated leader inthe worldwide ecumenical movement and former executive in The United Methodist Church died in her hometown of Fayetteville, Ark. on December 21, 2013. She was bornSeptember 7, 1925 in Fayetteville to James Cortez Hoover and Rissie (Vaughn) Hoover.

She is survived by her nieces, Melba Smith, Patricia Carroll Polk, Dolly Hoover, Alfreda Hoover Beaugard, and Timberly Hoover Marchall (Irving), one great-nephew, five great-nieces, two great-great nieces, and a host of friends relatives, and colleagues.

In 1968 she was elected Associate General Secretary of the Women’s Division of the Board of Missions of the United Methodist Church where she served as head of the national policy making body of the organization.Ms. Hoover retired in 1990 after 42 years of service, 22 years of service as Deputy General Secretary of the Division.

FORDYCE - Wylie J. Faucett, 90, of Fordyce, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. Born October 11, 1923 at Carthage, he was a son of the late Junius Pleasant Faucett and Louisa Key Wylie Faucett.

He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for many years. He was a retired logging contractor, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and served as Dallas County Judge for 10 years. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Beth Caughman Bridwell and Louise Tillery; and a brother, William Faucett.

Mr. Faucett is survived by his wife, Lois Faucett of Fordyce; son, Dan Faucett (Jane) of Benton; two daughters, Mary “Boo Boo” Harper (Sammy) of Fordyce, Lissa Calhoun (Frank) of Carrollton, Ga.; brother, Joe Faucett (Joy) of Malvern; six grandchildren, Scott Harper of Haskell, Leah Garner (Nick) of Benton, Laura Harper of Fordyce, Adam Faucett of North Little Rock, Whitney Holland (Reed) of Birmingham, Ala., Kaitlyn Jennings (Jan) of Demopolis, Ala.; three great-grandchildren, Alicia Harper, Cannen Garner, Seth Garner; step grandson, Brent Calhoun (Summer) of Bismark; four step great-grandchildren, Kobee Garner, Jackson Holland, Gunnar Calhoun, Madyson Calhoun.

MALVERN - Dr. Jusung Lee, DVM, age 79, of Malvern, died Tuesday. December 24, 2013 at his home. Born on May 19, 1934 in Seoul, Korea, he had resided and practiced in Malvern since 1964. SEARCY - Rosia Mae Moore, 101, of Searcy, went to be withthe Lord on Tuesday, December 24, 2013. She was born to Samuel Marshal and Katie Catherine (Riggins) Ausburn on December 10, 1912. She married Charles D.Moore on April 10, 1927, and resided in the general area until 1938 when they moved to southern California, returning to Kensett in 1983. While in California, she was a homemaker and teacher’s aide at a Christian school; was an active member in the auxiliary to the San Fernando Elks fraternal order and the Eastern Star. After returning to Arkansas, she joined the Eastern Star of Searcy and New Morrow Church of Kensett. Well known as a fine craftswoman, she created beautifully hand stitched quilts, porcelain dolls in lace layettes, knitted baby sweater sets, crocheted and tatted items, and ceramics. Well respected for her generosity and care for others, her talents in older crafts such as soap making and sewing were put to good use in charity work. She and Mr. Moore began working with Presbyterian Mission and the B.P.O.E. to collect and transport tons of clothing, toys, and food items to the Navajo people of Arizona beginningin the late 1950s and continuing into the early 1980s.

Survivors include her three granddaughters, Nancy Gillis of Nebraska, Diana Salehi of South Carolina and Loyce Henderson of Florida; eight great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; and one great-greatgreat-grandchild; a sister, Iona Botts of Idaho; a brother, Floyd Ausburn, of Greenbrier, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Joan Ausburn of Conway, Ark.; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded by her husband of 63 years, Charles D. in 1990; daughter, Loyce Marie in 1980; and son, Charles Lee in 2002; a granddaughter, Donna Marie Gillis in 1948; five sisters, Clara, Florence, Lorene, Evelyn, and Opal; and two brothers, Howard and Herbert.

WHITE HALL - Jerry Wilson Lybrand, 71, of White Hall, wentto be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock.

He was born April 26, 1942, in Sheridan to Muriel Worthen Lybrand andDewell Lybrand. He was raised by his grandmother, Lula Worthen, in Redfield and graduated from White Hall High School in 1960.

Jerry accepted a basketball scholarship to Henderson State University where he graduated with a BSE degree in biology and physical education. After graduation from college in 1964, Jerry taught and coached in the Texarkana, Texas, school system for 2 years. In 1966 he returned to begin his teaching career at White Hall.

In 1968 Jerry earned an M.S.E. degree from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). In 1971 he became the principal at White Hall Jr. High and served in that capacity for 11 years. In 1983 he then became the assistant superintendent. In 1991 Jerry became the superintendent of White Hall School District.He was instrumental in both the planning and supervision of improvements to the school district that led to the facilities as we know them today. While he was serving the school district, it grew in numbers as well as academic achievements. During his tenure, the school district received numerous awards both in the state and on the national levels for many accomplishments. Mr. Lybrand earned the admiration and respect from his faculty and the White Hall community. He retired in 1999 after 33 years of service.

Jerry was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church.He was also a member of the American Association of School Administrators and the West Pine Bluff Rotary Club. He was a master craftsman in woodworking and built many beautiful pieces of furniture. He was also an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed many trips throughout the United States. He was most proud of his trips to Sturgis, South Dakota, the Smoky Mountains and the Natchez Trace in Mississippi.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and maternal grandmother who raised him.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Glenda Burton Lybrand of White Hall; daughterand son-in-law, Carol and Joe Taylor, and three grandchildren, Clara Grace, Caroline and Caleb Taylor, all of White Hall; sister, Peggy Little and husband, Bill, of Lancaster, California; and his faithful and constant companion, his bird dog, Max.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Inis L. Claude, Jr., 91, died December 23, 2013, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Va. Born in Yell County, Arkansas, he completed his BA at Hendrix College in 1942, then enlisted in the US Army, serving in France and Germany. In 1946, he entered Harvard University, where he earned his MA in 1947 and his PhD. in 1949, specializing in International Relations. He began teaching at Harvard, where he stayed until 1956. He moved to the University of Delaware in 1957. The University of Michiganwas next, where Inis taught from 1958 to 1968. 1969 found Inis at the University of Virginia, where he remained until his retirement in 1988. He also enjoyed visiting professorships at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, the University College of Wales in Aberystwyth, and Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He was active in the academic profession at national and international levels, publishing and lecturing widely and receiving numerous awards. His books included Swords into Plowshares: The Problems and Progress of International Organization.

In 1943, he married his college sweetheart, Marie Stapleton, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Bullock of Kilmarnock, Va., and Cathy Dalton and her husband Mike of Charlottesville; a son, Robert B. Claude of Oviedo, Fla.; three grandchildren, Rachelle Claude and Ryan Claude of Keedysville, Md., and Megan Perry Morris and her husband Daniel of Charlottesville; great-grandson Kenneth Jefferson of Keedysville, Md.; and a sister, Betty Warren of Morrilton, Ark. Special thanks to the friends and staff on the 1st floor of Catered Living at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge. His years following Marie’s death were made happier by this wonderful group.

Inis, known to many of his friends and family as I.L., enjoyed reading, gardening, making latch-hook rugs and hiking. He and Marie were for many years members of a group that hiked weekly on the Appalachian Trail and other trails in the Blue Ridge. He also volunteered as a reader at Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic.

A memorial service will be held at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge on January 17, 2014, at 2 p.m. The family suggests that memorial gifts may be made to the Endowment Fund, Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge, 250 Pantops Mt. Rd., Charlottesville, Va. 22911.
