SWIFTON - A 14-year old Jackson County boy died Thursday when he was shot in a Swifton home, police said.
Jackson County sheriff’s deputies found Isaac Odell Williams of Newport dead when they responded to a call of a shooting on Main Street in Swifton, Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas said.
The boy suffered a gunshot to the face, he said.
Authorities sent his body to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy, Lucas said.
A young man called police about the shooting. Lucas did not name the caller because he was a youth.
Lucas said the shooting appeared to be an accident, but the case is still under investigation.
